The regular October Business Meeting was held at the HCRCC Flying Field at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct 31, 2015 with the following in attendance: Pres. Ron Hargrove, VP - Dave Mitchell, Sec. - Jim Murphy along with members – Bill Patterson, Tim Bigley, Chad Sheppard, Keith Shaw, Jim Brooks, Steven Poretz, Billy Credelle and new member Don Whalen.
Ron opened with a discussion of the Election of Officers subject and reviewed the fact that today is the final day of nominations. He once again, gave detailed instructions on the procedure and schedule for the open nominations period noting that there have been no nomination of additional members for the scheduled election of officers for the 2016 calendar year. He asked if present members had any nominations and finding none, asked for a motion that such nominations cease. The members supported this action and nominations, therefore, were closed. A sample ballot was provided to attendees and Ron explained that anyone who felt they might not be able to attend the November business meeting would be allowed to execute their ballot and submit it to the club Secretary
Ron announced that the Club will change our Port-a-potty vendor in November with the new unit delivered on this coming Tuesday.
The Christmas Party was mentioned and attendees were encouraged to attend. Ron said that an information sheet on the party would be emailed to members in the next few days.
Ron mentioned that the Henry County Parks and Recreation Department folks have again been requested to give some attention to our flying field access road and the remaining “dip” in the grass runway.
Ron reminded members that the November business meeting has been moved to November 21 to stay away from the Thanksgiving holiday. This will be the final day for voting in the election of officers to serve the membership during 2016.
Ron reminded attendees that the 2016 membership application forms are available in the wall box adjacent to the frequency pin box and each new and returning member will need to fill one out to allow the club records to be up-dated with the correct information.
Ron commended pilots on their excellent record in maintaining the southern field boundary when the Red Hawk baseball diamonds are occupied. He then informed attendees that the Parks and Recreation folks had notified us that these baseball diamonds are scheduled to be full of activities next weekend and, therefore, pilots need to continue to be diligent in keeping their flight patterns north of the southern field boundary.
James R. Murphy, Club secretary
