Thursday, September 18

The HCRCC Officers (with a good number of the pilots enjoying the great flying weather) met at the field on Thursday, September 18 identifying a number of items that will require some preparation for the events scheduled for October of 2014.  These scheduled events include:

1)  Saturday, October 4 - a limited 2 or 3 hour work day beginning at 8:00 a.m.

2)  FridaySaturday and Sunday, October 10, 11 and 12, the annual Electric Pattern Qualifying Session.  Arrivals and practice flying begins Friday afternoon with the actual qualifying flights taking place Saturday and Sunday.  Lunch will be served on Saturday and Sunday.   Member pilots should allow the pattern pilots priority all day Saturday and Sunday morning.

3)   The HCRCC Autumn Fun Fly on Saturday, October 18.  Lunch will be available.

Work Day Items include:
 A)  Painting the tops of all the field tables another coat of paint.   (Ed Moore volunteered to get started on the painting if we would provide the paint so two gallons of paint was provided and we will see how much of
the painting remains for work day.) (Thanks Ed)
 B)  We will pressure wash the five shelter concrete pads on or before the work day morning.
 C)  Some sanding of the field low spots and the north bermuda grass over-run transition will be accomplished.
 D)  The paved runway will be treated for any grass/weed spots.  (Joe Brett is working this)  (Thanks Joe)
 E)  The white safety fences will be inspected for any needed repairs.

4)  Dave Mitchell will watch the grass cutting schedule and take whatever action is required to make certain the field is fresh cut for the pattern event.  (Thanks Dave, the field always looks nice)

5)  Julian said he had all the food procurement and preparation covered for all the events.  (Thanks Julian)

6)  A second Port-A-Potty will be required for the Pattern event.  JRM will schedule this.

A great turnout for Geezer-Thursday occurred this date.  The air was dry and the gentle NE breeze provided great flying conditions.
