with the
follow members attending: President ~
Ron Hargrove, Vice-President ~ David Mitchell, Secretary ~ J.R.
Murphy, Events Host ~ Julian Pugh,
Brian Hurley, E. McKnight, Ricky Hambrick,
Richard Rousseau, Ed Moore, Mark Trott, and Charlie Trott.
1) Ron called the meeting to order and pointed
out that the sign-in sheet is important to our interface with the Henry County
Parks and Recreation Department and provides information submitted to them
monthly. Therefore, please keep using it
each time you visit the field.
2) Ron pointed out that someone continues to
operate an RC plane from the area well north of the field and recently it
appeared to be a quad-copter type aircraft at high altitude. We will attempt to identify the pilot
involved and it will also be logged into the club’s records and reported to the
Henry County Parks and Recreation leadership.
3) Ron informed attendees that the Officers are
currently working on the 2015 Fiscal Budget and that the 2015 dues will remain
at the $75.00 figure. He urged members
that if they have a project they are seeking the club to adapt - now would be
the proper time to make that suggestion known, especially if it involved funding.
4) Ron mentioned the recent Heli-Fun Fly and
said he was interested in speaking with Brian Hurley to get his ideas on the
activity from an active “heli pilot”.
5) Ron reminded attendees that the election of
officers is scheduled for November and anyone who is interested in nominating
anyone for one of the positions is encouraged to make that idea known to one of
the present club officers - ASAP.
6) The food service activities were discussed
wherein the club provides lunch at special activities. Due to the ever increasing cost of food
items, it will be necessary to raise the price for the meals to $6.00 per
person. We also agreed to provide only ice water for a drink with the lunch.
7) The subject of a special “Club Logo Shirt” was
brought up and the suggestions centered on a white - pocket type shirt with the
logo only above the pocket. Some
suggested an embroidered logo so this will be looked into. It was agreed that this would be a purchase
with cash with your order situation.
8) Ron reminded attendees that an Autumn Fun Fly
was scheduled for October 18 and that some special recognition within the day
could be made such as “War Birds”, helis, ducted fan A/Cs, but that no other
special feature would be used. We also
agreed to try to incorporate a balloon chase in the day for all type
aircraft.
9) Ron reminded pilots to be ever mindful of the
southern field boundary even if there is no activity at the ball fields. He encouraged us to practice flying within
the field boundaries as good training for all concerned.
10) Ron reminded attendees that the 2014
Christmas party is scheduled for December 6 at Glen’s hangar and encouraged us
all to attend.
Happy Landings...... JRM, Club
Secretary
