HCRCC Safety Letter June/July 2014

Summertime...The season of BBQ's, swimming pools, baseball games,
RC airplanes, and fly-ins. This is the season folks. Great events like SEFF, Topgun, and Joe Nall, are in full gear. And don't forget about Warbirds over McDonough, or any of  the other wonderful upcoming events planned at HCRCC.

I hope you have a safe, and fun filled flying season this year. Get out there and “Fly em, like ya stole em”.

But with our fun, let us not forget to maintain our attention to safety. This is also the season of visitors. Many times visitors bring their very young children to our field. If you notice any unsafe conditions, do your best to lend a hand, and gently explain the rules to these visitors. Help avoid any problems before the arise. It is up to all of us to be the eyes of the safety officer.
As a reminder of current policy, I kindly ask everyone to,
1.)             Do not run any electric, or gas/nitro motors under the shed/pit areas.
2.)             Do not fly any size heli, or quad style rotorcraft under the shed/pit areas.
3.)             Please ask visitors to not pass beyond the marked blue tables by  the flight stations. If you invite someone out, for teaching purposes, assume responsibility for them,  and please respect the other pilots, in this situation.
4.)             When baseball games are being played, the 2 most southern flight stations will be closed. There are signs already posted.
5.)             Always remember that our entrance gate is our southern border for flight operations.  Please do not fly past the entrance gate at any time.
I know this may be difficult at times, but please do your best.
If you are using a tiedown rope to hold the tail for starting, make sure the rope is tight before starting the engine. Remember to treat every prop, like a live prop.
         Happy Flying                             Larry Przyborowski
