HENRY COUNTY RC CLUB NOVEMBER, 2013 BUSINESS MEETING MINUTES - Nov 23, 2013

On a  cool Fall Saturday morning in late November with a solid overcast dominating the Flying Field, the following members attended the November business meeting scheduled a week early to avoid the Thanksgiving Holidays: President ~ Vic Echevarria, Vice-President ~ Ron Hargrove, Sec. ~ J.R. Murphy,  Safety Officer Larry Pryzborowski, Webmaster ~ Andy Ripple, Joe Ryan, Errol McKnight, Curtis Miller, Ed Moore, Eddie Brown, Bill Powell, David Mitchell, Mick Adair, Josh Adair, Joe Brett, Chad Sheppard, Tim Bigley, James Jones, Dave Sweet, C. E.  Trott, Mark Trott, Steven Poretz, Lee Stimmel, Mike Sigler, Julian Pugh,  and Jim Brooks.
1)  Vic called the meeting to order and thanked the attendees for their presence on this important meeting wherein election of officers for the year 2014 will take place and a budget for 2014 would be presented and a vote to increase the adult membership fees to $75.00 to cover these expenses would be taken.  Vic then thanked the membership for their support during his tenure as president and then turned the meeting over to Ron Hargrove.
2)  Ron gave a brief review of the need for all member pilots to operate within the AMA and club regulations when flying and do their best to encourage the same from all pilots.  He reminded everyone of the upcoming Christmas Party and mentioned the four door prizes for members and four door prizes for ladies present.  He reminded attendees about bringing a wrapped RC related gift for the gift/steal exchange and stated that each gift could be unwrapped by the original member, then stolen twice by other members but no more than twice.  He reminded attendees that they needed to bring a covered dish and/or dessert and their own chairs.
3)  Ron then explained the club’s intention to issue level 1, 2 & 3 stickers for 2014 and explained that level one would be those members who have not soloed yet but were flying with an instructor.  Level 2 would be those accomplished pilots who fly regularly and level 3 would be those accomplished pilots (level 2) who feel they are qualified to assist other pilots with certifying that their new airplanes are flight-ready, that recently repaired airplanes are once again flight ready and assist with “maiden flights” on new airplanes.  There are no benefits available for level 2 or 3 pilots, but level 3 pilots are identified as willing to assist others with their day to day flying decisions and practice.
4)  Ron ask JRM to present the business at hand for today’s meeting giving a brief overview of the improvements made to the field in 2013 and that it cost the club well over the funds generated by the 2013 membership fees.  He pointed out that if we are to continue to improve the field and maintain what we worked hard to accomplish, it would be necessary to raise the adult membership from $60.00 to $75.00.  After some discussion, this change was voted in with a vote of 23 for and 3 against.  Therefore, the adult dues for 2014 will be $75.00.
5)  Election of officers was presented via written ballot and the slate of:  -  President - Ron Hargrove, Vice President - David Mitchell,  Secretary - James Murphy and Treasurer - Joe Ryan was accepted with a unanimous action by the members present
6)  Julian requested that members planning to attend the Christmas Party email him an RSVP with the number attending.  Email address to use would be - pearl3570a@hotmail.com.
