Henry County RC Club held their monthly meeting at 10:00 am
on May 25, 2013, at the Red Hawk field. The following members were present.
Dave Mitchell, Marl Trott, Charlie Trott, Joe Brett, Larry Przyborowski, Andy Ripple, Doug
Clark, Ron Hargrove. The meeting was
opened by Vice President, Dave Mitchell.
It was announced that our present membership is 104, and it
was mentioned that there are several others that we know will soon be
renewing. Our finance status is as
follows: Paypal account $7154.72, Checking $921.37, and Savings $584.77.
We have received notification that
Newton County RC club will be hosting a RC show nest weekend, June 1, 2013.
There will be a fun-fly, swap meet, and Bar-B- Que. All those that can are encouraged to support
them.
It was brought to our attention that we had a unfortunate
event occur at our field this previous week.
Although we will not attempt to provide all of the details in the
meeting minutes, it was discussed that our Safety Officer will be sending a
safety letter to all members addressing this.
Suffice it to say that a large gasoline plane got away from a pilot, and
crashed on the softball field.
Fortunately, there was no one present on the softball fields at the time!
This is a serious incident, and we as a Club, and as individual members must do everything
possible to prevent a recurrence of similar incidents. Remember, the existence of our club is
determined by our actions!
The hard work and consistent efforts of our many of our
members have resulted in our facilities continuing to stay in excellent
condition… our thanks goes to all those that have helped in this area. Our
field is looking better than I have ever seen it. Come out and enjoy it at
every opportunity.
The meeting was concluded, noting that many members were out
of town enjoying the Memorial Day Holiday.
Plan on attending next months meeting and supporting your club.
My membership in this club dates back to 1974.. Can anyone beat that? The only reason I'm not a member now is I have my own field...
ReplyDeleteWhat do ya gotta do to get a Honorary Membership around here?? ;)
Keep up the good work Gents.
( I really miss Dan Echavaria. He was a good friend)
