HENRY COUNTY RC CLUB MARCH-2012 BUSINESS MEETING MINUTES – for the Meeting held on March 31, 2012
The following members attended the March 31 business meeting today: President ~ Vic Echevarria, Sec. ~ J.R. Murphy, Safety Officer ~ Julian Pugh, WebMaster ~ Andy Ripple, Tripp Grissam, Dave Mitchell, Richard Rousseau, David Neal, Joe Brett, Charles Trott, Mark Trott, and Tim Bigley.
The name of the game today was “Big, Powerful, Quiet, and Awesome” as Victor Diaz, who served as CD, brought some big name pilots to our field. Today was the opening day of HCRCC hosting a pattern contest and the performance was a treat for all who were able to come out. Jullian again put together a great lunch for attendees and was assisted by Joe Brett and other willing club members.

Vic called the meeting to order with the following items brought to the floor:
1) Vic reminded attendees that our Washington, D.C. lawmakers have passed the new FAA funding bill which included provision for leaving the RC hobby program alone. The AMA has urged its membership to stay tuned to the release of the final NCRM to make sure it does not include any anti-RC postures.
2) Vic mentioned that there has been some recent damage to the flying field by heavy vehicles, but that the club leadership has worked to minimize this damage and the field is ready for today’s activities.
3) Tripp mentioned that he may have a contact for assistance on the field maintenance program and said he would get with Vic on the matter
4) Vic pointed out that Dave Neal had provided some commercial strength ant killer and expressed his thanks to Dave.
5) Vic encouraged the attendees to stay tuned to the Club’s website to keep abreast of both the Club activities as well as other RC activities in the area.
6) Vic pointed out that Dave Mitchell has the popular HCRCC art work for application on windows and such and the cost is $4.00 covering the expense of production
7) Vic reminded attendees we are once again exercising the possible production of a HCRCC tee shirt and hat. Details will be forthcoming.
8) Vic reminded attendees that next year at Perry, the Club will rent tables right next to the Hobby Shop’s section and that this should provide a number of advantages to both the Club Members and the Hobby Shop operations.
9) A motion was made from the floor that the leadership examine the possibility of being able to release to requesting members roster information of current club members including their phone numbers and email addresses. It was agreed that it would be easy to do with a new year’s application, but not so easy with the 2012 membership list. Vic said the leadership would take the motion under consideration to see if something could be done for this year.
Respectfully submitted - James R. Murphy, Club Secretary
