To the current members of the HCRCC:
The following information is provided to all members of the HCRCC.
As you all might have noticed we have finally made some progress on our grass both on the infield in front of the sheds as well as the grass runway. I must say myself that it looks really great!! “We” as a club have invested a good deal of money and labor by the geezers to make it so. In order that the new grass continues to grow and spread we have also invested in a temporary sprinkler system which is attached to the only water available to us.
On numerous occasions we have found the water hose disconnected or turned off. This of course would inhibit the growth of the new sod causing it not to grow or even dying. One particular patch has already seen the effects of that.
I would like to solicit and ask all our members to please be observant that the hose connected to the sprinkler system not be turned off or disconnected. We should especially be observant of non-members and outsiders that may turn off the water and or disconnect the hose which is hooked up to the sprinkler system and then forget to reconnect it. It should also be noted that upon reconnecting the hose to the sprinkler system it must be tightened to a point where it does not leak creating another problem of flooding in our sheds.
In the very near future I will install a two way valve on the main water outlet so that we all have access to the water as well as keeping the sprinkler system going. If anyone has any questions, opinions or suggestions please feel free to call or e-mail me.
I want to thank you all for your understanding and vigilance in maintaining our field as one of the best around.
Sincerely,
Victor Echevarria
V.P. HCRCC
